Somewhere between Malachi 4:6 and Matthew 1:1

This blog began on 11 April 2005 with a thread titled Genesis 1:1. In the approximately three-months-long period to follow, a certain amount of fun has been had by all.

Alas, the fun must necessarily come to an end for a small period of time. Call it the "intertestamental period" where revelation was silent [but only if you have a flair for the wildly hyperbolic and dramatic!].

The Pedantic Protestant blog will go into hibernation for a two-week to one-month period if things go as planned, starting this 4 July 2005.

The reason, as stated before, is the "Big Move West" where life begins anew and many things that were taken for granted out here will have to be rebuilt, redeveloped, etc out West. I'll be driving cross-country and will then begin work not-too-much-after arriving. Throw in the "getting set up" factor, internet access acquisition, and the enjoyment of the perpetual sunshine and heat, and you have a most wonderful excuse for silence from the PP side of things.

The email address of "pedanticprotestant AT yahoo PERIOD com" will still be operational, though there will be at least a two week lag in any sort of replies.

What does this entail for postmodernists, pseudointellectuals who enjoy striking a pose, militant internet Roman Catholic apologists, and other inanity-dribblers out there? It means you can take off the safety helmet and play out in the open. When the cat is away, the mice can play, the saying approximately goes. Postmodernists, in particular, can make their silly claims regarding modernism without fear of immediate PP-ization, and Roman Catholic apologists can make silly dismissive arguments with impunity since the "D00D with the Big Beatdown Stick" is occupied with slightly more important things, such as remembering what box out of the lot of boxes contains whatever doohickey he needs at the time!

When this blog comes back to life in early- to mid-August --- sooner than that perhaps if things go smoothly --- a few superficial changes will be made. This will doubtless keep the low-double-digit readership intrigued and titillated, or so the marketing arm of PP Enterprises says. [This same aforementioned marketing arm also recommends adding PP thongs and PP halter tops to the catalog as well in lieu of the fact of the fact that, well, PP Enterprises is moving to California.]

So to the 37.42 readers per day and other miscellaneous passers-by, have a fun July!

Driving! What a brave man. We'll all be keeping an eye on the blog for you while you're gone.

God bless you in the move. And don't go all California on us once you arrive!

You have permission to shoot me as soon as I put pineapple slices on a pizza!

As for the blog --- turn on the lights each evening and pick up the paper on the porch each day. Thanks!
