The Joy of Sox [Or: Was the Sox good? Heck no --- The Sox was GREAT]

This is for Diane and Ogre and Big Tom and Jonathan and followers of the Hawk-and-Wimpy cult and my other Chicagophile friends. And to my old friend Shane in Houston, oh well...I'm still your bud.

As Hawk would say, with the Wimperoo joining in:

You can put it on the board.........

YES!!

There is deep theological significance to this thread. I trust those enlightened with the gnosis that comes from faithful PP readership --- dwindling ever-so-steadily while I'm on bloggo-holiday --- will see how I've answered all the big questions of life in the main thread.

So please don't ask what the meaning is, OK?

I used to know about the Hawk and Whimpy cult. I use to get that Chicago station every season until the cable out here cut it. Then I heard Whimpy left and Hawk stayed. I've been wondering about them as their ultimate dream has been coming true. Were they both back in the booth this season?

Inquiring minds want to know if you managed to stay up through the marathon game on Tuesday night?

There were a lot of bleary eyes on Wednesday in Chicago.

I'm wondering how much business will get done today with the parade downtown. Will the CBT shut down and the traders hang out the windows to watch (like they did for the Bears in '85)? Will the buses be swamped by people so they can't turn down LaSalle? How will those cannons of ticker tape (or shredded paper) work?

And, the most important question, should I go and miss work?

Wimpy left a few years back, replaced with a bland guy [Jackson]who can't yell "Yes!" with Hawk with the same conviction.

Hawk & Wimpy were the biggest homers in announcing history. I loved them for it.

Diane --- I don't think anything south of Jackson Ave. is getting done today. Take a day off. Tell 'em PP said so.
